Eindhoven University of Technology conducts research in the field of biomass in the areas of thermal conversion, product gas cleaning & conditioning and sustainable process design. Furthermore has the university her own biomass laboratory at disposal where there are several different test setups available including a BFB (Bubbling Fluidised Bed) gasifier, a grid reactor and a 20 kW FB (Fixed Bed) gasifier. To encourage this cooperation the Biomass Research Institute Eindhoven was funded. This organisation exists already for 10 years and was recently suited with a new look. Its goals are, besides unification, to exchange knowledge among the different research groups, to encourage cooperation and to involve students into biomass research.
